Few years ago, there was a big hype surrounding a young player from Santos called Robson de Souza aka Robinho, similar to what has been going on with another Santos man, Neymar in the last months.
Real Madrid spent no time, securing the signing of the player, giving him the No. 10 shirt. However, he left them in 2008 and said that he “would rather work in a burger van than play for Real Madrid.”
“I have two regrets in my career: how I left Real Madrid and how I left Santos. I don’t regret that I left but the way everything was,” he’s quoted as saying on the newspaper Folha. “At Santos, things could have taken a different path but not in Madrid. But it is all over now. Everything serves to add to your experience.”
Robinho moved to Milan from Man City in 2010 and helped them to win the Scudetto, scoring 14 goals.
